In late September 2014, I ventured down in to the Deep South for
an 11 week stint at Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. The Natchez Trace commemorates an ancient
trail which was used for centuries by traders and later by Civil War
forces. For the first 6 weeks, I was
stationed out of Tupelo in NE Mississippi.
I knew almost nothing about this area of the South and had a lot of fun
exploring the local natural and cultural sites.
The Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail ran through the northern side of
Tupelo along the Parkway. I hiked along
the trail often. Here are some of photos
